    (in Name Only)

I thought conservatives hated Catholics by default unless they wanted a supreme court appointment

Trad caths have made huge strides in acceptance within fascist communities. Truly the greatest feat of tolerance this century

Are "trad caths" a thing beyond weird internet aesthetics? I only know one Catholic and she's normal so I don't know the wider concerns. I guess there's been some kind of split once Pope Francis said gay people aren't intrinsically sinful or something?

every religion has its share of reactionary zealots, yes

I know that, I meant the very odd online subculture in comparison to wider more broad reactionary Catholics, although I guess I'm answering my own question

Tradcaths are pissed about the gay thing, but htat's not what got them started. They started because they were extremely red, mad, and nude about the mass being said in the vernacular instead of in latin.

They only hate brown catholics or people who speak spanish. Somehow they have convinced themselves that south americans do some kind of weird voodoo-practice (literally have no idea how to describe their feelings other than this, but Rod Dreher made a long fucking article about south americans being pagans, so discrimination against them was okay). Some protestants still hate all catholics, but none of their leaders do, so it's not a significant number.
