I'm convinced these people are too far removed from reality and are so stuck in the 80s that they don't realise that the middle class isn't big enough to win you an election.
Thats why the game is always to expand what counts as "middle class" so people can pretend to be above others, but we're getting to the point where middle class means "not homeless" and theoretically you're up against a wall there
Eh, I dunno about that. The middle class is everyone wealthy enough to live in a place without roaches and poor enough to need to work. It's an absurdly broad category.
But if you want to run on "I did something for your material benefit" you have to actually do something for peoples' material benefit.
