I've just started getting into Trueanon and was listening to the Bush Did 9/11 series. It's pretty common knowledge (around here anyway) that the ultrawealthy really do fucking run everything and shape the narrative such that they can keep doing so no matter how heinous the atrocities they commit. Absurd wealth really is absolute power. But it makes me wonder... what about the "new money"? As just one example, like Bill Gates. I know he's an evil capitalist motherfucker, but he wasn't among the powerful elite when he started out. Is there some point where people like him get "jumped in" to the violent gang that steers geopolitics? Does he know that Bush (and co.) really did do 9/11? Are even those who have the most wealth, at least ostensibly known to the public, kept in check by the power of those behind the 3 -letter agencies? Maybe this is a stupid question and I realize any answers will inevitably just have to be speculation, but I'm trying to wrap my head around this and would love to hear thoughts.

Yeah I do wonder how close a lot of capitalists are to CIA coups and stuff like that these days. I think I read something in that "Bay of Piglets" thing where some mercs got caught in Venezuela, supposedly some executive of Kraft-Heinz was "helping out" with that or whatever. Probably in a sort of Marco Rubio "ooh I wanna help do a CIA coup too!" kinda way. But I wonder if people like Bezos are "into that", since they are more indirectly (ie less directly) tied to imperial extraction. Amazon obviously has CIA contracts and stuff like that, but how many capitalists are working directly with the government on projects using their money and stuff?

Defeat of a dirty military incursion into Venezuela on a Sunday morning

The plot for a small invasion in 2019 that unraveled is now well-documented by Joshua Goodman of the Associated Press. That plot was led by Jordan Goudreau, who served in the U.S. Army as a medic in Iraq and Afghanistan and then became a private security contractor; he worked with Cliver Alcalá, a former Venezuelan military officer, who brought together a few hundred Venezuelan military deserters to conduct the raid. Alcalá is now in prison in the United States for his involvement in the drug trade. Goudreau and Alcalá were backed by Trump’s bodyguard Keith Schiller and Roen Kraft of Kraft Foods. The entire operation sniffs of a madcap CIA adventure, akin to the 1961 CIA failed invasion of Cuba at Playa Girón.

Yes. This. This is the kind of shit I’m trying to get at despite my obvious ignorance. Have there ever been any instances where “new money” big players who weren’t initially part of the abject horror show of vast human misery, either were reluctant to be onboard with it, actually went against it (and were probably taken out), or if they for the most part are all just “yep, that’s how it works, that’s ok with me!”
