I never understood iphone hype and never will.

It feels a lot like buying the same Madden video game every year, where maybe once a decade something visibly changes, and (according to AngryJoe), things are actually removed or made worse from earlier editions, but the fandom mandate is must buy new one all the same.

It isn’t even good for browsing this site. Safari sucks shit when there’s more than 600 users online.

I still use my iphone 6 plus 😂 Honestly prefer its simplicity to the newer phones that just look increasingly fragile

I've been using an iphone 6, and my office gave me an iphone 11 last year, and uhh. fuck the camera is a lot better, and the whole thing is better and faster.. but I actually hate that it's bigger, shit is uncomfortable for 1 handed use.

Then I look at the Android market and just .. yeah, I'm going to stick with the apple, as it is the same thing every year basically, but at least when it changes, the changes are mostly good (losing the headphone jack sucked, but I also hated dealing with cables). The Android changes tend to be 1/4th assed features that are trash to use and you'll be searching how to disable after a month. Like Yeah, some Android phones beat Apple to thumbprint and face recognition, but it was way shittier than when Apple did it 3 years later.

The face scan shit is annoying anyhow, as I wear a mask outside and my hand is already on the phone. The notch, like all Notches are bad.

In short, Iphones are fine, nerds who whine about iphones are somehow even more annoying than people who are excited about the new iphone every year.

Yeah I'd be pretty stoked to have a replacement for a favorite clothing item, esp if it was exactly the same.

TFW the phone you were perfectly content with mysteriously gets slower every year until you're frustrated enough to contemplate upgrading.

Going through this right now holy shit I hate planned obsolescence

I have an XR not even that fucking old and it barely uses Bluetooth any more. It will randomly play music when I’m just talking on it and will stop routing gps completely in the middle of driving somewhere and I’ll have to reroute

TFW you only use your phone for phone calls and maps so you haven’t noticed
