i think this was the first video game i actually finished. Fucking loved it as a kid, was my favorite for a good while.
Shimomura's score is super good as well. Always liked some of the more inventive creatures and characters they made for this game, especially since the mario rpgs of the last decade have had pretty homogenized npcs

Next to Uematsu she's the best in the biz, her work on Parasite Eve is stellar.
The music in this game is fantastic. Literally every tune is memorable.
I play this game every couple years. Formative and nostalgic but I think even that aside it holds up so well as a story progression. So much fun. Love this fucker.
I think it would. The main gameplay holds up in a "simple but well executed" sort of way, and the story has the slightly irreverent tone that the Paper Mario series would adopt that works really well with this type of game.
I'd say it's unironically one of the best rpgs ever made for the SNES.
Young me was LMAO'ing at the Power Rangers reference. Nowadays that sort of thing is pretty routine, but back in the 90's I don't think there were any TV writers younger than 36 years old. Simpsons was great but the fact that the boy's hero is a TV clown shows that they grew up in a different era.
Am I the only one that's actually attracted to Booster from this game? That beard makes the man look so sexy.
