      You may have subscribed to some youtube channel that's all of a sudden having terrible takes about Ukraine. But think about it. Why did you follow them in the first place? Was it for things like international relations? Or did you first start to like their work talking about community organizing? The thing is, a lot of these people have their heart in the right place but they're just out of their depth.

        And when you're actually organizing, you spend a lot less time on hexbear.net making sure all of your opinions are correct. I'll be real - if I weren't so terminally online, I'd probably be one of those "Chinese genocide" people because I'm a sucker for emotionally-driven narratives like that and there aren't a lot of committed leftists in my life right now. It's easy to get swept up in all of that stuff, and once the opinions are formed it's a lot harder to unwind them.
