Totally moddable. You unzip shit from nexus or whatever server and just get to Play. Old school like that
Haven’t played in years how’s it coming along is there a story yet?
There's a story, sort of. It's got an end game boss and a bunch of quest lines. There are also mods that add quest lines and 4X mechanics so you can play it like Civ or Stellaris
I'm a dirty high-tech fan boi unfortunately. I will 1v 10 Ludd fleets and dunk on them for free supply and $$$ commission.
starsector slaps so much, i have been playing around with mods latelly and there are so many incredible ones there is a fucking Gundam mod it is insane
The Arma Amatura mod or whatever it's called is incredible. I'm having a blast using them as escorts for my Sci-Corps ships. The strike potential on specific ships and fleeing targets is incredible.
I tried it but found the fleet combat too difficult. Ended up giving up on it because I kept eating shit and couldn't accomplish anything.
Nah nah try some mods and see if you give yourself a better start. I personally recommend Nexerelin and Archean Order, and to start with a Sci-Corps exploration battlecruiser. It's the best high-tech ship in the game for new players due to its immense strike potential and massive shield emitter.
I'd highly recommend that anyone who's interested play through a normal game of this, and then go grab Nexerelin and some other mods and go to town seeing what all this engine can do. It's a fantastic game, and you even get to make friends with [REDACTED]
