Why do people go to coffee shops, especially ones like Starbucks? It takes no effort to make a pot of coffee and every gas station in existence sells the same product far cheaper anyways. Their primary market seems to be libs who work in an office with a coffee machine.

Like I get the "I'm chilling at a table in a cafe talking to a friend" coffee shop, but not the standing in line for burnt bean water coffee shops.

Starbucks is overpriced shit, but do gas stations really sell good coffee where you live? I don't think I've been to many gas stations that offer espresso out of anything except a fully automated machine.

Contrary to what chuds claim, communism is not when everyone has the worst version of everything.

Theres nothing wrong with enjoying good old-fashioned drip coffee, :grillman: assuming it's the worst on the otherhand :meow-shining:

Drip coffee is categorically inferior to espresso and I will die on this hill.

Imagine if you will, the lord of the rings meme, where Gimli says to Legolas while staring at the ork horde racing towards them "never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an elf." And Legolas replies "what about side to side with a friend" to which Gimli replied gruffly, "aye, I could do that."

Now imagine Gimli is you, and Legolas are liberal coffee snobs and the ork horde are the sigma working class drop coffee enjoyers.

espresso was invented to shorten Italians' coffee breaks by brewing the coffee quicker

it is inherently an anti-worker brew method

Gas station coffee, with some exceptions I'm sure, ranges from brown piss water to passable. Starbucks is overpriced and its almost certain there's a local shop just as good or better near you you should go to....but commerical coffee machines are better.

If you're the kind of person who drowns your coffee in milk and sugar then it's kind of a wash (espresso not withstanding), but if you take it black like me you can definitely taste a difference between office kcup pod coffee and actual coffee shop coffee.

Now mind you I'm not so stuck up that I won't drink the cheap stuff but it is a nice treat to get a solid quality cup of coffee when you're out and about.

Edit: if I made six figures and had the time to stop at a coffee shop every morning I could probably see myself being one of those tbh...

I get why you would go to a coffee shop to get espresso and steamed milk. The machines for that are too bulky, expensive and unwieldy to work in a private kitchen.
