completely related to this article brought to my attention by another chapo

Steffen told Voice of Action that the three main challenges to humanity – climate change, the degradation of the biosphere and the growing inequalities between and among countries – were “just different facets of the same fundamental problem”.

This problem was the “neoliberal economic system” that spread across the world through globalisation, underpinning “high production high consumption lifestyles” and a “religion built not around eternal life but around eternal growth”.

The only thing that can save is the full destruction of capitalism in less than like, 5 years. Gg, i guess.

Even the worst case scenario isn't really apocalypse, it's just constant precarity, more frequent droughts and famines, and resource extraction jobs becoming more dangerous (as regions of the earth do become uninhabitable for humans). So, lucky for you you're not focusing on the wrong thing by freaking out about the escalation of fascism. The disaster that climate change brings very much puts us in a socialism or barbarism scenario where the escalation of fascism is at the centre. I kind of hate it because we live under soft-fascism in the era of plenty, worsened and made explicit by the refugee crisis in recent years, I just don't see how the left at its current state can fix this. But maybe we'll get the reins of power as millennials and zoomers get older.

the bronze age collapsed from a combination of food supply issues, mass waves of refugees, and a large number of natural disasters occurring around the same time

I was verbally expressing my dismay about this and a jogger passing me told me not to despair "until Nov. 3rd"

How do people believe Biden's going to magically be better than Obama on climate change? Do they not remember Obama's oil policy? Do they have bottomless optimism? How do they do it? I wanna know because I want to be that way too.
