She thinks building codes are oppressive, but criminalizing abortion? Who knows if that will have consequences!

When a woman doesn't baby right which clearly means she's a murderer and now you get to have 20 years of free prison labor :spongebob-party:

how can someone seriously think that cops would be above arresting a woman for going through a miscarriage.

Especially when it's already happened. People just aren't knowledgeable about what actually goes on in this country. Texas will execute mentally handicapped people for crimes they didn't commit, they'll absolutely execute a woman who had a miscarriage.

frankly I think they prefer going after people in situations like this as it gives them more of a power trip and like all bullies cops are cowards

Also that cops would refrain from doing it because of the negative press they receive. Like I know that cops complain a lot about being "persecuted" by the media, but that has done literally fuck all to prevent them from acting the exact same way. Just absolute idiocy from the big brains behind "greenfell was bad, but lets not do anything about it, otherwise more people are going to die in traffic accidents."

I used to truly buy into the "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" trope when I was younger since the libertarians I knew in high school really did seem to have that kind of mindset (or at least said things that indicated they did at the time) but as I've gotten older and met more people, I've realized that broadly, "republicans who like weed" is the more accurate description.

Did that ever stop? I thought the NYPD still pulls that to accuse trans women of prostitution?

I cant even get mad at her anymore, its like the McRage fuse in my head has been blown so many times it's just melted slag, and instead that energy just arcs out aimlessly into the atmosphere like a solar flare. In the resulting calm, one part of my brain tells me "This is in no way surprising, this person is a cloistered idiot whose every daily interaction and incentive aligns to induct her further into a dead end ideology to fulfill her role as a priestess of capital." And then another part of my brain responds: :yes-chad:

The right libertarian movement had spent the last 20 years honing how their beliefs somehow justify abortion bans and it’s the most deranged thing about them

I mean fair point. But I still hood that “there should be no government regulation or oversight on anything….except abortion that isn’t a right for the person” is the most mental gymnastics thing ever.

If you're a right wing prosecutor, telling your base that you're going after the baby-murderers is probably really good optics, actually.

I love how many people already given up. Their imaginations cannot encompass something as simple as beating up six old people in robes, or violently coercing Manchin and Sinema to do what they're told.
