How Dems May Accidentally Hit Americans With Big Health Insurance Bills Before Midterms
Millions of Americans could see big hikes in next year's insurance premiums right before the November midterms.
That's if Democrats fail to extend subsidies in a new economic spending bill.
Manchin seems noncommittal on extending the aid, even though he backed it in the past.
It is truly astounding how bad the Dems have been. I’m like 80% sure they are deliberately trying to lose.
I watched the recent video clip of Biden boasting how he lowered the deficit. He was so proud of himself. As if it fucking matters. "The deficit was a ginormous number! I lowered it by a trillion! Now it's that ginormous minus a trillion!"
Voters do not give a fuck. But, yeah Joe - you've made substackers like Matthew Yglesias sexually excited. Great job. I'm sure that will matter in the midterms.
To be clear, lowering the deficit during an emergency where people are suffering and government spending could fix some of the problems is a bad thing. The deficit should’ve grown in order to fucking do shit! The fact that the deficit went down is another indictment of Biden, not a thing to brag about.
They tried asking Mancin nicely, and got nothing. They tried asking a little sternly, and it just made him mad. What else do you want them to do? :vote: as hard as you can, in the most important election of our lifetime, so that democrats can have a super duper majority!
They could [redacted] Manchin. I'm pretty sure the process itself would be completely effective within just a couple minutes. And then they repeat that on Sinema and a few recalcitrant other dems.
Suddenly - we get filibuster reform and the dems actually fucking do stuff!
Lol imagining a guy who wasn't paying attention to anything for the past two years and assumes it's fine, only to learn about this and go "oh shit, this and I assume only this is gonna make the midterms a disaster!"
