It’s really fucking baffling that the democrats in complete control have actually been worse than the end of Trump’s term. I’m actually starting to go back to thinking this is complete incompetence and not malice. This is amazingly incompetent.

      not malice

I disagree. Goodness requires effort and I see zero effort happening by DC democrats. From today...

Pelosi: "I want the Republican Party to take back the party to where you were when you cared about a woman's right to choose, you cared about the environment. Here I am, Nancy Pelosi, saying this country needs a strong Republican Party. Not a cult."

Pelosi is Catholic. I think it might be possible that she believes poor women do not deserve legal abortion because the poor don't deserve anything and like the worst Catholics she thinks that suffering is actually good.

And I think the vast majority of dems in DC do not want to do anything on abortion because they can campaign on it, fundraise off of it, and it makes campaigning easy. I think it's a similar case for other issues like actually fucking doing something about climate change. Not only does Pelosi know she's full of shit on climate - she knows the dems have no real interest in doing anything on that either. Same deal - the dems can campaign on it and fundraise off of it year after year.

Seriously. It's like the difference between an anti-vaxxer and a snake oil salesman. They're both profiting off of, and prolonging, our suffering.

Earlier today I saw this tweet by an epidemiologist...

Back of the napkin calculation — if the Gridiron dinner outbreak had a 14% Attack Rate… there would be 458 infected at [The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner].

Biden is 79 and he risked his health by going to that rubber chicken dinner slash guaranteed superspreader event to show that everything is okay and we are in a new normal. Fauci is 81 and he stayed home. He complained to them later in private.

The entire thing was (and is) Trumpian. But if you tell a lib that - you'll get a lecture and a reminder that there are vaccines so it's entirely different. On a daily basis I feel like a crazy person.

It can be both. There's thousands of people involved and most of them don't like each other. Some of the most critical players have alzheimer's they can't quite keep under wraps. And they're all ardent capitalists. They can be malicious and incompetent at the same time as a gestalt, even while some of them are very competent within specific scenarios.

For instance, they can keep shoveling money in to Ukraine because they all agree on it, while at the same time the Democrats have no real awareness that the GOP is plotting to kill them.

Trump's admin is what incompetence gets you. To be worse requires malice.
