Yes their both fascists of a decaying empire but you need to vote for the lesser fascist.

The OP is one of the semi-weekly Have you considered how bad Gaza will be under Trump? posts on lemmy.world. Obviously these people dont give a shit about Palestinians or else they'd have different priorities. So there's no point actually trying to debate them because they aren't being honest. Its just wild to see how far they will bend to the left's framing and rhetoric while offering them absolutely nothing.

I bet I can get one to say "Please vote for the turd currently sponsoring a white-supremacist settler-colonial apartheid state's genocide of the indegenious population, or else the other turd will sponsor it more." if I said it would make me vote for Biden and I was in a swing state. They're so fucking desperate. My man, that shit ain't gonna work. The jpeg of a hundred mediocre things Biden's done because you couldn't point to any one good thing was working more than this.

PS: Of course they said yes to the bottom question.

"You have to vote for the real existing genocide because i'm afraid of the imaginary theoretical genocide in my head"

    barbara-pit

They went from " vote for the lesser evil" to "vote for the lesser genocide" with so little effort.

It's so stupid, idk what to make of it. I assume most of it is bad faith, they only care about foreigners in the abstract if at all, while they believe trump will cause them real harm and they do care about themselves.

They care about Palestinians the same way chuds care about the integrity of women's sports records.

Only when it can be used as a cudgel against people they hate.

They refuse to consider how Democrats will reflexively become anti-Trump as soon as he is in office, which could collapse the bipartisan genocide consensus.

Trump derangement is based on aesthetics. The genocide consensus is structural to American imperialism

Sure, and I think liberals will still join opposition to genocide on purely aesthetic grounds. The genocide definitely looks bad. They'll be squishy allies that fold at the first opportunity or sign of push-back, but it's a hell of a lot better than them being strong supporters.

The keffiyeh is going to be so hip in 2025. All my new fake friends will be wearing it.

Excited for a brand new liberalism emoji, but with a keffiyeh instead of a kente cloth. I think it'll be chuck Schumer in the lead this time too for some reason.

Yup if Trump was president every elected dem would have "from the river to the sea" in their Twitter bio.

But it's a dem president so instead that's a terrorist slogan.

voting for the lesser of two evils allows us to buy time

YOU GOT IN THE WAY OF ALL OF THAT! THAT WAS THE IDEA A LOT OF LESS RADICAL LEFTISTS WERE TALKING ABOUT AND LIBERALS SANDBAGGED AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!!! YOU'RE NOT SETTING UP TO BUY MORE TIME, YOU'RE ALREADY BURNING THE CLOCK!!!

If Trump's elected liberals will be forced to oppose "christofascism" while right now they don't oppose neoliberal fascism

The country in general is more united against Trump then it is against Biden

@Schmoo@slrpnk.net why do you pretend to oppose neoliberal fascism, everyone can see you're full of shit

Russia's election is in 2 weeks. We need to also make sure we vote for Putin also. I think he's wrong to invade Ukraine, but lets not delude ourselves that Leonid Slutsky wont be much worse! Progressives need to fall in line and declare their support for Vladimir Putin

Never underestimate how patronizingly condescending libs will get towards the minorities they claim to champion when those minorities get uppity.

So there's no point actually trying to debate them because they aren't being honest.

This reads more like a lib struggling with the last few excuses they can muster for supporting Democrats. They're calling Biden a neoliberal fascist, after all!

This is exactly who you want to interrogate those excuses with -- they're 90% of the way there already. "I don't know, man, supporting an ongoing genocide is my red line" seems like a good approach for folks like this.

Al this fear mongering about how terrible a Trump term will be would be a lot more effective if we hadn't all lived through a Trump term, and then watch him get voted out despite doing everything he could to stop it, and then watch dems not do anything about all the terrible things that did happen during his first term because they suddenly weren't a big deal when a dem was president.

God forbid women and Trans people lose rights and become scapegoats for everything wrong in the country and we participate in a genocide while a republican is president instead of doing all that with a democratic president as God intended.

      Literally.

Trump randomly derails actual fascism because somebody didn't kiss his ass hard enough, liberals want to make sure the fascism machine is running at peak efficiency.

Perfect examples democrats tried to eliminate asylum status for immigrants and suggest literally just turning EVERYBODY away afyer a certain number of people apply on one day, the most cruel policy proposed for the border to date. Fortunately Trump randomly decided to torpedo that deal because he didn't want democrats to get credit for being extra cruel on the border.

This is a concrete recent real life example of the incompetent fascists being less dangerous than the spineless fascist enablers.

Listen, kiddo, I get it. I don't like the two-fascist-party system. I think our country is corrupt and fascist and, quite frankly, I don't wanna vote for Biden; it feels like voting for a fascist, but I'm gonna do it. You wanna know why? Because the alternative is a fucking christo-fascist. A christo-fascist. It's a christo-fascist. Maybe we can have the conversation about dismantling the two-fascist-party system when a christo-fascist isn't running. Maybe we can do that later, kiddo. Champ. Chief. Maybe we can talk about it later.

Especially when half the country is trying to say the slow fascism isn't fascism.
