Are you sure it's not because they're terrible at statecraft? Like we're in the Late Habsburg stage of the Anglocene era or something

yeah. it's crazy how much things have changed in the past 30 or 40 years. like I can't imagine what someone waking up from a coma or whatever would think. Watergate today would barely even register, despite being one of the most famous scandals of all time.

But I imagine some fucking zoomer president would get on twitter and post a Jim crow level racist wojak of Kanye crying “you don’t care about black people” and then a chad version of himself saying yes.

put down the fucking lathe :hst-gun:

I remember arguing with an acquaintance from school on FB who when I pressed him on his beliefs got it boiled down to how the rest of the species was pond scum to him and that I should think the same. "How is this bleak nihilism not appealing to you?"

tbf azov is only using DPR/LPR Ukrainian civilians as human shields, and as we all know, they aren't real Ukrainians anymore, as they've declared their independence :brainworms:

Was he pretending to be anti-war before this? Isn't his whole thing that he's an """""operator"""""?

Tulsi “I was in the military” Gabbard does this too. Postures as anti-war constantly but never met a military suck-off funding bill she didn’t like

for an embarrassingly long time I listened to socdems like Kyle Kulinski who treated Gabbard with reverence, like she was some kind of principled opposition.

the deep state does nothing but fund death cultists and then act shocked when these ISIS lunatics turn against the US, like their support of the Taliban against Russia

I think they don't care about terroristic blowback that much tbh. Blowback just scares the lumpen into being more reactionary and xenophobic, and allowing their civil rights to be curtailed by the "national security" interests. And the blowback usually hurts people over there. For every American the CIA-backed reactionary terrorists kill, you get 100 non-Americans dead. These 'deep state' guys are all invested in defense stocks. Mass PTSD and Paranoia is good for their wallet. None of them give a shit about blowback unless their own fams get harmed. The bourgeois doesn't even have to care about the nation state. They have money. They can flee if shit goes belly up.

There doesn't need to be a war needlessly killing soldiers, but since this hurts someone we don't like (and soldiers aren't people anyway), it's actually a good thing that they are being killed.

both parties are captured by "great power geopolitics." Russia was once a rival, and must always be treated as a rival, even after the collapse of the USSR and the embrace of privatization. This is pure teamsports jingoism and goes above the petty interests of the :vote:rs, whose partisan loyalty is based on domestic social issues rather than foreign policy or economics (this is an oversimplification since foreign policy, social issues, and economics all overlap, but you get my point). Owning the libs is more important than foreign policy.

Full honesty would just be admitting that he doesn't care about limiting the destruction to just the military

since its a military goal, maybe it should come out of the military budget?
