I think Amber mentioned at some point that she was part of some leftist meeting that talked about if the should push for Warren, as she was the most left wing high profile politician at the time. They ultimately decided no. I don't remember any more details but I think it does illustrate that there was a time before most people knew of Bernie's potential, when she seemed like the best remotely possible option.

You do recall correctly - it was widely reported by MSM. Bernie wanted to draft Warren as the anti-corporate swan song at the foot of the nomination of Clinton. Warren refused. Bernie ran himself, thinking he had even less of a chance, and then he surprised everybody.

This is what makes Warren's claim that Bernie didn't want a woman to be President/didn't believe a woman could be President such a serpentine lie.

Honestly I'm convinced that this hit job is ultimately what prevented the campaign from going forward. It took up unnecessary time during that debate where he should've been differentiating himself with Biden.

Still remember when the prevailing thought was "Whoever comes out of Iowa and NH on top will be the one who stays in the race for progressives coalesce behind". Instead she did the exact opposite and hit Bernie with probably the worst attacks he got all primary, all while Biden was dead in the water. He barely edged out fucking Klobuchar in Iowa for fucks sake.
