Are they conscious of this? At all?
My money is on a big hell no. These are literally the stupidest people in the world were talking about here, they have no self awareness at all. Their inner life is completely silent
No, I don't think it enters their selfish heads at all. A good point of analysis is the suburb: everyone in their tiny little castle in their tiny little fiefdom of grass. They only care about the appearance of their neighbor's lawns and homes because it can appreciate or depreciate the value of their home. Hence, the Home Owner's Association circus. It's like if you took the concept of a community and atomized it completely.
If you have that mindset and you apply the concept of "freedoms" it will be completely individualized. It's always about "my freedoms" not "our freedoms" even if they use the word "our." It's a shorthand for themselves.
Yes. They don't care. They care about their own personal comfort and nothing else.
I think they think everyone should get the freedom to use the n word and to not have to respect pronouns.
It's all only consistent in how their freedoms punch down.
I think if it occurs to them, or it's pointed out, they simply shove it under the rug because self-crit is unnecessary aside from being uncomfortable.
Their ideology is incoherent, inconsistent, and that's a feature, not a bug.
Freedom means the freedom to dominate others, usually through property rights.
