I don't expect anyone to have any great hauls right off the bat, so we can save hauls for next week. What I think would be a good idea for this week in particular is

  • a discussion of where and where not to hit.

  • whats your method of not getting caught

  • If you have been caught, whats your spicy story?

Any good advice I will put into next weeks thread.

Death to America

Yeah from what I've heard Target is fucking bonkers at AP. Ive still pocketed some $4 bag of candy once or twice just to feel the rush but I ain't particularly itching to hit it big.

But yeah just walk out 100% of the time.

Pro tip: if you are afraid of the cameras the gardening area of target is usually lacking any good security (besides next to the registers) so if you take some shit over there they can't really stick you with concealing. Make sure this is the case in your store obv. If there are any TINY cameras hanging on the shelves that have a red blinking light those are FAKE AS FUCK. They don't transmit anything.

I'll get us started with where I like to hit.

Target is SOOOO fucking terrible at asset protection. They have a ton of shit locked on pegs and behind lockers but they literally use the exact same key for everything in the story. They literally sell the fucking key on their site! Otherwise they use a standard s3 magnetic key for everything else which can cheaply be purchased online. . Keep in mind, if you ARE caught with these items on your person while stealing you will be charged with some premeditated bullshit so BUYER BEWARE.

Target has been closing at 10pm since COVID so I'd advise on stealing VERY early morning or just before close. Door greeters aren't checking receipts rn so the classic load a basket up and walk the fuck out trick works pretty well. Once they resume opening 24hrs you can probably assume they have no AP after 10pm. Every AP I've ever had in my store has left at 5pm or 10pm. Night crew DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK about anything so you can pick shit clean.

last piece of advice: if you drive DO NOT PARK YOUR CAR UP FRONT. Try to scout out a location with no cameras before you hit the place so they can't get your tags. Usually the very back of the parking lot is a decent bet, or if you are one of them there city slickers you could probably just park the store over.

nah we dont really need a new community for this. I think a once a week megathread on main would be a good idea. Otherwise we may have far too little content to fill an entire week

When lifting stuff from department stores I used to always team up with a friend. One would fill their pockets and the other would not. We would go through the alarm gates at exactly the same time. If we missed a tag somewhere and the alarm went off, the one with the empty pockets would stop, throw his hands up and look startled. The other would just keep walking like nothing happened. Always worked for us.

The one time i nabbed something I just left alongside some random dude with an overloaded cart. It worked but I regret doing it to the poor guy now, teens are dumb and awful.

The way I've heard this is a white woman and a black man team up, the white girl steals all the shit, the black guy walks out right after thus attracting the attention, then they split the rewards later.

Could also work with a white male

We're two whiteboys and it always worked. Security would just go for the low hanging fruit without fail. Never underestimate how much of our responses we automate

if you're a student (and therefore have access to an academic bookshop) you should try to steal theory.

obviously leftist stuff is usually accesible for free but you can give physical books to real people, and not all of it is online. and there's plenty of history and science worth stealing too.

not from libraries i mean, I mean places where they charge you for textbooks and have a shop attached where they sell them.

the best time to do this is the year starts and there are lots of other students in there milling around, and follow the usual tactics like buy a bookmark, cut out the lining of your jacket, go with friends who can block cameras/distract etc

I remember accidentally shoplifting a PS2 game while buying stationery when I was a child, I think it was FIFA 08 or something. While shopping I asked my mom if I could get it and she said yes so ignorant me put it in the pocket of the backpack we were buying for school without thinking. Low and behold when we get home she wondered why the bill was so low and then seeds we didn't pay for the PS2 game lol. That's the only time I've ever "shoplifted" for official purposes

can we talk about self-checkout? when they introduced that shit it was like "wait... you want me to do unpaid work for the store?" people should steal from those so much they decide they have to hire checkers again

People do. The loss to theft is currently less tha they were paying cashiers. Theres a Walmart here in middle of an urban area here had cosmetics in a locked section and no fucking self checkou. literal only one ive seen without a self checkout in a while. Imagine being so much of a racist capitalist fuck you forgoe profit cause you prefer making sure brown people cant steal.

Like 80% of theft is under ringing in the SCOs. When I worked as a SCO guard or whatever's I just didn't give a fuck if anyone stole. The one time I did care (when I first got hired) I called for management and they didn't do shit.

Was looking for an extra wall charger for my niece's switch all summer but everywhere I went was sold out for like almost 2 months. Finally saw them at my local Walmart while picking up some other shit. Went to ring it up at self checkout and I guess since they didn't have it for a while I scanned it, the thing beeped that it scanned, but it didn't go towards my total. Old habits immediately kicked in and I just threw it in my bag and put the bag in my cart. Once I got back out I got a little ballsy and went back in to grab the other 3 that were on the rack. Picked up some bags of candy as well. Lo and behold the first time wasn't a fluke and all of them scanned but didn't add to my total. I think the guy that unlocked the thing on the rack knew what was up but I had a little back and forth with him the first time he unlocked it so he was cool about it. Now my niece, 2 of my friends, and I all have extra wall chargers for our switch. Little bit of uncle magic I gotta say.

Take a pack to the bathroom and unwrap them in the stall and flush the wrapper down the drain. Magic cards and boxes have magnetic strips in them that can make them go off at the door (the packages do not, it's the cards themselves)

Source? That's news to me. Also with how people "repack" decks and other promotional stuff that have highly desired cards at Wal-mart that they "return" after, I wouldn't hit Wal-mart for Magic cards even for the boosters, as they reseal those.

They look like that and can be found in card packs with the cardboard holster around them. Not in the plastic pack itself. They're also found in any of the other big kits but honestly the doors only go off like 25% of the time anyways. Another think you can do to avoid it is just swipe the packs over the demagnetizer at any empty register.

OH THOSE. I don't think I've seen those outside of deck-builders kits and buy-a-set promos. Most retail stores generally DON'T have those on the booster-packs (15 cards). Probably because the booster is like $5-7 a pack.
