      We're deploying troops to Yemen

To help stop the brutal famine and genocide they're suffering at the hands of the Saudis?

To help stop the Saudis and ongoing genocide, right?

Politico rates it 10 Pinocchio’s. He’s just too dang powerless and needs everyone to pitch in before he can stop supporting Saudi Arabia

The letter adds that the US military presence in Yemen is “to protect US interests by providing air and missile defense capabilities and support the operation of United States military aircraft,” but stressed that the US role in the country is “non-combatant” and is for “defensive purposes.”

    Defensive purposes

Which is why they are in Yemen and not in Virginia

This is what we know about. I guarantee there’s some nightmare CIA torture site there.

Three letter agencies of the US would never torture anyone! They are the most just institution in history and also have great break rooms, good free fruit - in case anyone is looking for a job - and best of all don't have a union :fedposting:

Things that are harmful to American national security:

      • China sailing in their ocean
      • Cubans existing
      • Oil fields being controlled by their respective countries

They don’t even know about it. I was talking with a friend about Ukraine over the weekend and they got all chest thumpy about Ukraine and I said “what Russia is doing in Ukraine is no worse than what the saudis are doing in Yemen” and they got this completely blank stare and said “yeah I don’t know anything about that”

What Saudis are doing in Yemen is many magnitudes worse

Siri, pull up the respective civilian death tolls for each conflict (Yemen: 377,000 per the UN, Ukraine: 3,780 per the UN)

Houthis and Iran need to strike Saudi oil production hard right now. Remove the Saudi’s leverage to involve the US. If the Houthis lay waste to the Saudi refineries and oil derricks then the US will not bother getting involved as there’s nothing left to defend or extract.

    Yay! Another new war!

And just like the wars in Syria, Libya, Nigeria and all the others, nobody can tell us why we're at war there.

Thank god we all got out and voted so the US wouldn't become an even more overt evil fascist empire at home and abroad. I'm sure now that we've saved our democracy it'll be just as easy to convince people to vote more what with how much good that did for everyone
