That's what vampires have always been. Stoker's Dracula was about the last vestiges of royalty at a time when the bourgeoisie were cementing their power across Europe and the monarchies were being pulled down.

They would never make muh spooky novels political!!
It was about the draining blood sucking job of working for a landlord
Havent heard of this but will absolutely look it up now!
I think it's the new Arkane (Dishonored, Prey 2016, Deathloop) game. Looks like a horror themed co-op shooter with "immersive sim" elements.
I just want them to make another Dishonored, the first one was so polished. A perfect ~6 hour game that you can play again and again without playing the same way twice.
Spend less time on dynamic shit and more time on crafting branching pathways in a shorter game.
I think the format definitely works better for shorter games. The thought of replaying something like Prey to experiment with a different playstyle is pretty unappealing to me. Then again, I don't have a whole lot of time for games these days.
The newer Hitman trilogy sounds like something you might like if you haven't already played it.
I've played it, but the story and world is boring compared to Dishonored. I really enjoy the uniqueness of the world and interesting side stories you find just looking for alternate paths.
Goddamnit I hate immersive sim elements i want to play arcadey pkew pkew games
I think that theme would be more sincere if it were not a Bethesda title, however I think it's kinda cool that the designer at least started at that point. I really wish it were a single player game though, all of the characters seem rad but something about co-op experiences devolve thematically cause you and your friends are playing these characters and some of the creative direction gets lost as you just rampage through a FPS experience. Still looks kinda dope. In a horde shooters it's usually fun because it's more like a goofy experience but when a game wants me to take it seriously (which I want to do) it can be hard when my friend is meme'ing in the voice chat over narrative setpieces. Redfall looks like it'd be a hella sick vampire hunting, city liberation sort of single player title.
It's single player too. In fact if anything the co-op systems (levelling, story progress, etc) seem less robust. Probably best to play it solo first for atmosphere and stuff, then with friends for the co-op experience.
Smart of them to capitalize on that energy while its still lingering around
