lmao I successfully pivoted myself into almost being relatively important at my job, then they fucked me over (gave the project I was vying for to someone else for absolutely no apparent reason and refused to explain to me why) so I have slowly been dialing back the effort and can you guess how many concerned check-ins I've had with my direct supervisor about my performance decreasing lol.
Yeah if they paid me more I wouldn't really complain but then they go and do some bullshit like "here's half of your yearly bonus applied pre-tax to your paycheck so you only see like 15% of it in reality"
Uncanny stuff. I developed an app for some shit fintech that down the line became essential to their bottom line (thus giving me some importance inside the company and knowledge of a bunch of essential processes that had to be added to the app, which had to be constantly discussed over and over with department heads) and there was a new initiative to develop a brand new app to go with their renovated branding, but I wasn't included in that project because they were using this impressive new technology that I couldn't comprehend (it was xamarin lol). I really stopped doing anything that wasn't very essential upkeep and spent every working hour sorting shit by new on the chapo sub, until it became evident that the new app was quickly becoming hot shit and I had to quit before my app was replaced on the store and I had nothing to present to new potential employers.
