    There's no harm in doing it, but also there's no harm in not doing it. Even the cleanest bathrooms are petri dishes, and toilets have gaps in between the lid and bowl where plenty of aerosolized nastiness is going to escape even when it's closed. The best thing you can do is wash your hands properly.

    But yeah, arguing that it takes too much time is peak galaxy brain, like literally every other second of your day is perfectly productive.

        I'm not saying to stop doing it, but the presence of pathogens does not equal the spread of disease.

      laterally. and 95% of that nastiness is just going to hit the lid.

      As far as COVID goes, it can stay in the body for years after it's been cleared from the nose/throat, so now closing the lid is even more important
