Do you have a source for that or is it speculation? Seems possible but I didn't think that lectin toxicity presented with the symptoms people have been experiencing

Seems textbook to me. Liver failure from the body attacking its own cells from an overdose of lectin. If they had a ton of uncooked lentils in it it could really fuck you up. One site says that it is unclear if the lentils were unprepared, the instructions say it must be cooked to an internal temp of 165 but most people won't have the tools for that.

Ah huh most of the symptoms I remember reading about were gallbladder related but that's a good point. Just seems like that would've been an easy thing to determine conclusively by now

An interesting fact is that the gallbladder has lots of lectin binding sites that could lead to inflammation or blockage of cystic ducts (leading to a form of gallbladder disease). Similar research has been done towards lectin from wheat germ and how it can impact the gut as well.

Its a pretty common issue. Sometimes 'raw' lentils are already pre-prepped to cover the grocery store's ass. Don't count on it, cook your lentils and legumes

Also, don't know the quantity. If they have a bunch of lechtin concentrated into the food it could fuck you up

What a google search gets ya. "raw lentils contain a type of protein called lectin that, unlike other proteins, binds to your digestive tract, resulting in a variety of toxic reactions, such as vomiting and diarrhea".

And I'm never eating lentils again. Any other common foods that'll kill me?

Any kind of mushroom available on a commercial scale isn't going to fuck you up. Most mushrooms have to be cooked prior to eating, but even if you don't cook them they'll just cause vomiting and diarrhea/cramps.
