I had this salad that was really awesome: Thin strips of cucumber, fennel, thinly sliced apples, mint, lemon juice and lemon zest. It was incredibly fresh and delicious.

My absolute favorite is tea salad, which is a major dish from Myanmar. I've usually had it as romaine or iceburg lettuce, tomatoes, onions, fresh corn, a couple thin jalapeño slices, dressed with fermented tea leaves and lime juice, with fried garlic and crunchy dried beans on top. Extra great with a sprinkle of salt and msg

If you count tabbouleh as salad then that's up there too for me

    Fennel/apple/ spinach/Snap Peas/pistachios with lemon mint vinaigrette.

    Golden beets/green peas/blanched kale/pomegranate kernels/sesame seeds with a lime-ginger vinaigrette

Finely shredded cabbage/green onion or shallot/cucumber/jalapeno/pickled whatever/dill. This one is technically a slaw and you can dress it with a sugar+mayo+cider vinegar+lemon juice if you want it more like coleslaw to serve with meats, or you can just do mostly pickle juice with a bit of sugar and lemon juice to make a lighter vinegar-slaw.

Cesar salad is delicious if you make the dressing yourself, it's easy but you need a mortar and pestle or blender. I also LOVE tabbouleh but I'm a slut for parsley.

That said, I'm a huge proponent of thrown together salads. My rule of thumb is 2-3 crunchy veggies (or fruits), at least one leafy green, 1-2 'enhancers' e.g. nuts, less crunchy fruits like berries, pickled stuff, seeds or grains, herbs, meats, fuckin' whatever you want.

Dressing is harder to say. It's so easy to make, and store bought dressing always tastes weird as fuck. I think that would need to be a seperate thread.

Fuck, sorry for the long answer.

Cobb salad is fav salad but salad with ham/cheese/bacon defeats the purpose.

You can try cooking some of those ingredients. Blister the toms, roasted pepper dressing, toast the walnuts.

Diced cucumber, zucchini, tomato, red onion, and feta with a peppery white balsamic vinaigrette. Olives optional.

A spring mix or arugula with walnuts and raspberries or similar with a vinaigrette with minced red onion and a piquant cheese.

Caesar definitely, especially if you add some grilled chicken and bacon in it for a bigger meal/more protein. Love an shitty americanized "Italian" style salad like you get at Olive Garden too, with Italian dressing, parm cheese, tomatoes, and pepperocinis.

If we're just going off of anything with "salad" in the name, I love some classic pasta salad - even better if it's got pesto.
