why did they suddenly decide to charge more? If they always had that price making power, why weren't they already using it to charge as much as they could?

I listened to the Richard Wolff episode and he never covered this, even after I was shouting into my device my question.

His it-really-is-that-simple schtick got tired. Why wouldn't he answer my question?

The only possible answer would be that covid gave them an excuse. Oh I'm sorry, capitalists need an excuse to raise prices or else they cannot get away with it? Sounds unlikely, knowing capital the way I know it.

ok well that was actually a vacation idea I was having.

My family, we always went to like myrtle beach for vacation but what I want to do is go to a real city and sample the arts.

    I wouldn't fit in though.

It's two fold. First there's the part with the suits. I'd feel completely out of place at a classical concert. (the movie also made me feel this way. Half the references Lydia made went over my head. Classical music itself is like this, pieces have allusions to other pieces)

Then there's the part where I go back home to my job at the hillbilly shop and people say "so what'd you do on your vacation", oh yeah I went to see Mahler at the Met. I can't share it with anybody.

Art is communicative and person-to-person. It's about sharing. Lydia's world is a highly highly gatekept garden of exclusions. She decides to impose auditions on a solo that didn't need auditions. Is she an artist or is she a gatekeeper?

  • What about the male desire to piss all over every toilet seat? I don't want to sound like a bathroom Nazi. My preference is that there's gendered bathrooms and everyone leaves everyone alone about which one they choose. I don't think non gender bathrooms are bad either but what we have works fine for the people who matter (nobody except a bathroom Nazi has ever complained)

Sorry in advance, this is gross but....if I were to stick my finger in my cheeks and poke my butthole and then...sorry.....smell my finger, I wouldn't smell anything except Irish spring. I'm also plagued by itchy but themes but never again.

ok are you REALLY washing your butthole really really good?

When it's itching and you do a test wipe, is there any bit of brown on the paper?

So when I say I wash my butthole, here's what I mean: I lather up in between my checks, scrub my butthole firmly with my finger, follow up with a clean rag for a bit of scrubbing abrasion, and rinse rinse rinse.

Buttholes are pretty deep down in the cheeks. I suspect you're not REALLY cleaning. I went through the same thing.

  • I enjoyed econ and I see no reason to argue with it but like the problem is, ok they have the chapter on market failures. Like what if market failures are HUGE in scale? You know there's the one chapter and then they move "ok but the rest of this is true....". What if market failures are MOST of the story? The textbook should be 95% market failure and 5% equilibrium stuff.
