Gotta love how this is basically the CalArts style that all the Chuds whine about when they talk about modern cartoons

Nothing against you, but "CalArts Style" has to be the dumbest thing ever arisen from the hell hole of tumblr. There is no singular style taught at CalArts, its antithetical to the pedagogy. Not to mention this shit isn't even taught at the school, its just a small set of students who are very understandably animation/cartoon nerds, who make replicate the shows they love to watch

It's just a symptom of the implosion of capitalism. Rich getting richer = everyone getting paid less = cartoonists also getting paid less = have to use this shitty soulless cartoon software to even produce a cartoon = start creating the easiest, most low-investment geometric shapes while also maintaining at least some aura of unique artstyle (a la Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Craig of the Creek). These aren't bad shows but they are objectively easier to execute animation-wise than older cartoons.

It's the same exact phenomenon as Genwunner-ism in Pokemon, where the pokes over time became more blobby, rounder, and with trivial silly polka dot patterns on each one to make them look technically "different".

In fact, the very reality that there EVEN ARE 923409823 pokemon now is itself a symptom of capitalistic implosion, because these studios no longer have the incentive to produce something risky and new (like a pokemon action MMORPG or whatever). Instead they just keep recycling the same shit for 30 years because its guaranteed money from the LCD.

Also Crystal version from the year 2000 objectively had the best sprite animations for a 14 year period. You can go on Bulbapedia and check this for yourself. All animations until the XY? generation were just sprite distortions, whereas in Crystal they were actual animations. They only improved in XY because they started using a totally different, wholly-animated 3D sprite. This devolution during the 2000s is probably due to the localized implosion of the Japanese economy in the 90s

:porky-happy: Actually that's called "improving efficiency"

wdym, my 30' x 8' wall of unopened Marvel Funko Pops are unique and well crafted curios that are imbued with the messaging of the shows they represent

Jesus christ, he's still making these? I swear I saw one of these videos in 2013 or something. How tf do you keep rehashing your hatred of minorities over that many years?
