When I was in middle school I was really into Mila Jovovich, I watched all those shitty Resident Evil movies and bought her music. One time I imagined a gritty reboot of The Diary of Anne Frank where these Nazis are searching a house, they see the attic door and approach it with guns drawn, the door flies open and the ladder crushes the first Nazi's face with a really detailed close up of the gore. The other two barely have time to react before bullets rip through their chests, "Mein Liebe!" they yell. Down comes Anne Frank, played by Mila Jovovich, wielding two Skorpion sub machine guns.

Now I'm just thinking about this, is there any appropriate way to get a string of numbers tattooed? This obviously isn't it, but if someone wanted something like that how would they do it?

This could work in a lot of cases. I bet some people want that numeric look though. IDK, it's not like it's a real problem.

I was worried that one of the posters in this thread was Jeff Mangum and we'd scare him off if we mentioned him.

He did showup for the 99% stuff.

    I dunno, I think it's kinda sweet.

I know Funkos are disliked here, but another way to look at this is "I got a figure of someone I admire" and replace Funko with your style of choice.

There's a difference. Funko is so clearly corporatized, it's designed to turn any artistic value into something to be bought and sold. Anne Frank was a real woman, here story is a tragedy and an important message about fascism, and she has been made at the same level as Leonard gold variant from the big bang theory.

I realize that, and that it might come off as tasteless to some, but I think intent is important too. I doubt the person who got this was thinking that deeply and metaphorically about it and was just like "I like this historical figure I played in a play once, I like Funko Pops, therefore I'm gonna get one of her".

And I wasn't thinking too deeply about it when I called Google joogle because haw haw different g sound, it still was an offensive statement and I instantly took it back. The item itself is an insult and should never have been made, whether or not the commissioner realized how bad it was.

I don't feel that strongly about it's very existence personally. Would I have done it? Probably not (I think Funkos are ok personally, don't love or hate em'), but at the same time I don't consider it paramount to spitting on her grave or anything. For all we know, this person could be Jewish themselves.

If this were a mass-produced figure and an actual part of the line, I'd feel differently. But as a one-off custom for one person, I think it's fairly harmless.

It's existence is wrong to me, but I wouldn't attack the person who got it. I just hate what it symbolizes, how everything no matter how important or deep or meaningful or personal gets reduced to a commodity. It's like I'm directly keyed into the heart of capital, that need to consume without ever asking why or how much.

Anyone who sees this now has to have this be the last thing they see as their final synapses fire and try to draw meaning. It's the only suitable punishment and recompense to avenge this fucking travesty
