    So much of the shit we import from china is treats. There are some things that we can't make but I don't think iPhones and Nikes or walmart toys or shirts or vinyl flooring are essential. If China is committing genocide then the US is aiding it. The easiest thing for liberals to do right now is to demand that the US fucks off from china and call for the arrest and sentencing of corporate executives, but instead they have capitalist realist brain and shrug and say "ah well. it is what it is" or smugly say "that's capitalism for ya!" then refuse to criticize capitalism any further. They have 0 consistent thinking aside from buzzwords and CIA talking points. And I don't imagine I'm being :very-intelligent: either because the US as an institution is criticizing China and they have the power to change how they operate things domestically; that's way different from an individual owning a MacBook while criticizing capitalism because you can't separate yourself from products you can't control
