"Mmm yes, this deceased NFL player had CTE at the time of his death, accepts check from NFL but we still don't know if repeatedly getting his head knocked around by some of the most athletic people in the united states contributed in any way whatsoever"

A lot of people piled on me when I said combat sports should be banned in a communist utopia. Pile on me once again because ban throwball, too.

The intent of those other dangerous activities isn't to cause harm to another person, especiallythe brain. CTE is proven to cause depression, anxiety and aggressive behavior. It results in higher rates of suicide, domestic abuse and other violent acts. The amount of societal harm created by engaging in these activities far outweighs any benefits. They are therefore banned.

Throwball is more dangerous than most combat sports. I cannot pile on you.

I have a brother who played American football through college and he's terrified of what's waiting for him in middle and old age because of five concussions. All so he wouldn't have student loans.

Not to rehash an old struggle session, but tbf, a good deal of the pile-on was because you pretty much immediately compared consenting adults competing in boxing or martial arts to sexual assault and said that anyone who wanted to do sports that simulated combat for fun were "psychopaths".

Fucking boggles my mind that libs still claim we have independent and unbiased media. Once you learn to spot the angles, they're everywhere.
