I love the games (the Telltale games were peak), and I actually like like most of the individual members of the cast (aside from Kevin Hart, dude just is plainly unfunny to me), and I think Eli Roth can do a decent job behind the camera. However I know most certainly this will be a product/marketing platform in the shape of a movie.
Is the cinema landscape this bleak these days? Movie magic is being wasted on this slop. Goddamn.
Blanchett has had a great career and i think she has a great career still to come! I do however think this is a bit of an odd role pick for her, though I could see on paper this being a fun cast to work with.
i agree it's a weird role for her but they've been casting old men for shit like this for decades so it's kinda whatever.
i'm sure the performances will be fine given what they probably have to work with but i can't imagine the movie will be better than a transformers sequel.
They're trying to get the entire world lesbian population in theaters by giving Cate Blanchett a cool outfit and a big gun and it's gonna work.
