SOULLESS CHINESE COMMUNISTS WANT THE WORLD TO DENY CHRIST

    :frothingfash:

Anyway, I'd be happy if we just stuck 10,000 years onto our current calendar. Get rid of the arbitrary BC/AD divide, I wanna see the greatest hits from the history of human civilisation on a single timeline

fuck it, that actually makes a lot of sense and I'm shocked it hasn't been done yet

not for practical use, but for anything in space

It sounds sci Fi, but it could make sense for space exploration. We do have an old calendar... :posadas:

Fuck the year I want two things:

    Metric time

    French Republican calender

Metric time- 100 seconds in a minute, 100 minutes in an hour, 10 hours in a day.

French republican calender- 10 days in a week, 4 weeks in a month, each month has a cool weather name like " snowy" . 3 months in each season and 12 months per year. 360 beautiful days each year

I believe it was the French tradition that they were just " extra days" .

Just 5 or 6 holiday days in a row, party days

I am currently reading a book on the Terror, apparently those 5 days are not all holidays, which actually pissed people off at the time.

For another L, a 10 day week meant for a lot of people more work days per each rest day. Really if we want to fuck with the calendar we'll have to throw out this capitalism thing first.

Putting on my Richard Wolff hat and proposing a system in which we identify how much we need for the year and only work as many days as it is necessary to produce that much, rather than building up a massive wasted surplus.

i want a lunisolar calendar for earth:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metonic_cycle

i want to look at the date and instantly know where the sun is and the phase of the moon. it will help immensely with my astrological megalithic structure building.

You'd change the length of each unit. A metric second would be shorter than an imperial standard second in the same way that a centimeter is shorter than an inch.

I still think some circular unit would be better than 10. Right now, each of the 24 hours represents a 15° rotation of the Earth.

Definitely one of the least arbitrary methods of measurement on offer.

But I can understand the impulse to clean up the calendar.

Well you obviously have to change how long a second is.

That's boring, we need to get extra religious. Let's make a big dumb radioactive artifact and base our time on its decay.

Bonus: We will get y2k and Maya 2012 at once when the artifact depletes its radioactive capacity.

Lets just start counting back down to human extinction. We've probably got more than enough time on the clock.

Not like it matters but can you even imagine the reactionary christian media's (i.e., the media's) response to this if it was even credulously brought up by anyone running for office in the united states lol

having said that i would actually :vote: for this as a single issue voter a) to piss off chuds and b) because it would be cool to be the first generation with a tombstone that said "born 1991, dead at 4.23 x10^9, he died loving gay space communism"

13 month calendar would have the exact same number of days in each month with each date of the month being the same week day so the first day of every month would be Sunday, etc. Only would have one extra day of the year so you just make it like "day zero" for new years and a holiday. God I wish we could do this. Would be so easy to set up schedules and know what the date was and keep track of shit.

Always a good idea to keep the measure of time updated with our knowledge of the cosmos.
