you ever wanna self-harm by seeing the most pure distillation of correction-via-physical-and-mental-trauma, i recommend the scared straight stuff they were making in the 80's. just outright abusing kids on film in the usa in the most villainous ways imaginable. submission and dominance are the norms of the fascist society. the dehumanization and depersonalization are the point.

makes me feel like an insane person. the one i saw yesterday, one of the kids was there for smoking weed, and his foster mother had called the police herself. the level of ritual abused being performed was just mindblowing, and it really made the whole "what did you learn?" part make me understand what was actually happening. like prison and jail fundamentally teaches a very different lesson -- submission to authority -- than that which it purports to, i.e. to magically live a "productive" life as a law-abiding citizen.

    [CW: child abuse]

It really pisses me off that boomers think that my generation (Millennials) and younger didn't get beaten as kids. Especially because boomers were the ones doing the beating.

The only thing we didn't get was physical punishment from teachers, we just got mental abuse from them. The physical punishment at school was from other kids because for some reason schools don't give a shit about punishing bullies. gotta enforce their fucked up incorrect views on the "law of the jungle" somehow I guess.

So yeah, boomers, kids do still get beaten. Mostly from their parents behind closed doors. It annoys the shit out of me that it never gets acknowledged.
