Checking on getting a monkey pox vaccine because well it's not bad yet but it probably will be. Local disease control board rules currently state your eligible only if you're a gay or bi man who has had sex with someone new in the last 2 weeks. Or maybe if you had contact with a spooky gay. Cool dudes glad this disease won't hit me since I'm not a man. Glad the codification of it's just a gay virus is underway.

Not that it matters anyway since they apparently only had 200 doses to give out.

I lied to get a second booster, it’s very easy you just keep saying you’re immunocompromised while they look at you like they don’t believe you

My concern is I lie to get a second booster and they come out with the new vax and I'm not eligible for it yet because of it. But idk what the timetables are even looking like anymore.

That's kinda the plan. Ya my brother he is so gay. Like the gayest. He came home and told me he slept with 9 new people yesterday. Can I have vaccine please?

Maybe you can say that you fucked a bi dude and now are at risk? What’re they gonna do?

yeah its 100% ethical in cases like this to say you're a trans dude that sleeps with mlm or whatever you have to say to, ya know, not die. considering the vaccine is not as scarce as they're making it.

I mean if there's only 200 doses of the vaccine left like in OP's case and you're not part of one of the communities currently at the most risk, I'd say lying is unethical, as a bi guy part of said at risk communities at this point in time.

If there's lots of vaccines available, sure lie all you want. But that doesn't seem to be the case in this instance.

I don't (personally) care about monkeypox because I already live in an essentially isolated basement due to COVID, and Mpox is even less contagious than that

Not meaning to um akshually, but the problem with vaccination availability is legitimately an issue of supply - like globally

I mean ya I know it's just frustrating of course. The worst part is honestly that this essentially trivializes the disease in the mind of many chuds and libs by making it a gay thing.

        I get what you’re saying.

But from my own country’s public health organisation - with PCR testing criteria having no mention of GBMSM at all and is only based on symptomatic presentation there is a clear demographic bias in positivity rates to the interconnected communities of GBMSM. It’s not because they’re gay - and ofc public health practitioners understand this because we see community specific clusters, or transmission chains restricted to within specific communities all the time.

But its also incredibly frustrating to know how easily things can be twisted and “rhetoricised”, and it’s hard to witness the fear people have over it. Where a single misstep in public coms from public health agencies can endanger peoples’ lives.

also, its going to cause a revival of gay panic when there's already escalating genocidal rhetoric. there are going to be fucking pogroms over this.

Lol I signed up for a dose locally - mind you, as an immunocompromised bi guy so I guess it kinda is meant for me regardless - specifically by saying "yeah I am a gay man who has a lot of anonymous sex". I do have Grindr on my phone so.......... :hexbear-gay-pride:

It makes sense at the moment with how limited the vaccine supply is with regards to the new smallpox vaccine without the serious side effects, and the majority of cases being in LGBT men at this point in time, due to the first superspreader event at a pride parade, etc. Unfortunately chuds will twist this to make it look like a "gay disease" or whatever homophobic nonsense they're dreaming up. Public health messaging is basically impossible with stuff like this.
