Making guns to turn a profit from people who want there to be less guns. I wish I could get in on that.
This is like when the British Raj had a bounty for cobras so a bunch of people started breeding cobras.
lmao, someone 3D printed a bunch of guns
:disgost:
to turn in to a gun buyback for $150 each
:meow-melt:
I love guns like the next ML but I think gun buybacks are honestly one of the few good things prosecutors and cops do in my neighborhood. Too many kids end up with guns around me and when their parents find them, they stash them where they’ll inevitably be found again and potentially used. Buybacks help them offload these guns without any questions, which is huge for parents of Black kids terrified of police catching their sons with guns and locking them up.
Thing is cops usually eventually resell the guns. I was on an auction page a few months ago and some department was selling used flocks that were confiscated in a raid lol. But the short term yeah it’s good. Plus only people who don’t want the guns will be selling them back anyway.
They can't do that with the 3d printed guns though - they can't be transferred legally to a new owner.
and locking them up.
Unfortunately they're terrified of much worse than that.
:amerikkka-clap: This is possibly the best grift I've ever heard of, the true victimless crime.
This also apparently happened in northern Africa with a certain scorpion after news said it's venom was incredibly valuable.
these derringers cost around $5 each in materials. if you get an ender 3 and aren't afraid of cops you can do it too
Damn, maybe I should check if there are buybacks near me. Just 2 guns would pay for that printer.
But I feel like I would need a gun license so it's actually legal for me to possess.
Edit: I can't really find any near me. There were a few earlier in the year, but right now nothing.
They printed the first generation of 3D guns too so it’s not even like they’re sacrificing anything valuable lmao
