    When I moved towns years ago I slept on a friend's couch who had married this guy, son of a us army vet and also a german. The guy had loaned a friend money and was having trouble getting it back.

    The father came around and said how in the military they'd have settled this differently, but "you civilians don't like that"

    I think it was a couple hundred dollars
