I hate that this kind of insidious shit gets no punishment. Musk lied and ruined what could have been a great rail project. He deserves some kind of comeuppance :xi-gun:

If it makes you feel any better I don't think this had any impact on the California HSR project. It was always gonna be this decades-long project because that's how things are in the US.

I really don't think anyone took the hyperloop thing very seriously when it came out.

Yep. Seems like something Elon would try to take credit for something he had nothing to do with because he's an attention seeking child-man.

America functionally cant build trains, its a country run by and designed for car companies.

I for one am absolutely shocked to learn that Musk isn't dumb enough to think that the hyperloop could work

And you people have been telling me he's an idiot. The guy knows what he's doing.

This is how it worked out materially, but I have a feeling that the truth is dumber and Musk bought into his own hype without forethought and assumed his cash could overcome engineering problems. I think he's kinda like, "well if I couldn't be the hero I'll be the villain of this then" but in reality he's just a bumbling idiot not the savior of humanity nor a master manipulator and heard someone else speculate that's why he did what he did.

He has a natural ability to convince people that he's smart, and he's so good at it that he convinced himself.

We already have elons shitty underground tunnel that does nothing, we couldn’t possibly also build high speed railways. We only had one new idea chip and we spent it on the tunnel

Capitalists admitting their crimes got to be a deliberate taunt right? They knew damn well that the people aren't going to do anything about them in their lifetime and their reveling in it?

crime against humanity, yes, crime against the people of California, yes, but is his actions legally a crime under US law? It sounds like some kind of fraud-like thing maybe, but I'm not aware of any laws against sabotaging public projects.

i have a feeling he just made up this excuse post-facto juts to look less like a moron who couldn't get it done.

his excuse makes him look less stupid but more evil. i guess he would rather be seen as evil than stupid.

    insecure little piece of shit.

Why would there ever be a biographer for this clown to begin with anyway?

In the same vein someone recently put up a post with a picture of a children’s book about him!?

Is the future history that will be told in ultra-capitalist AmeriKKKa going it be according to who has the biggest and most well paid batteries of publicity firms behind them?

God, this shit is so nauseating.

I mean, I confess I don’t follow science or any of these celebrity names so I don’t know much about him. Other than that, like so many others in the spotlight of fame, he’s another rich kid who never had to work a day in his life because of parents involved in ignominious ways of “earning” their money.
