This is what I mean by why I hate these posts when everything isn't known. It is entirely possible that Linus still intended to coerce her then changed his mind or something, or it is also entirely possible that he has no sense of tact and unintentionally made her feel uncomfortable or even threatened for which he has accepted if that was the case. Naomi could have a completely different set of evidence that we haven't seen yet which could completely change the story, or maybe its as simple as her misremembering things because it was 4 years ago. If we treat these things like the media does instead of with the careful consideration that it deserves, then the comments will also fall down the same path of outrage and wasted attention that clickbait asks for. The only concrete things we know is that Naomi is now being harassed by an incel army, and there's maybe an extreme minority who have decided to hate Linus. I just really feel we should be better than this

He did mention wechat conversations and didnt show those, I could reasonably see it as a cultural misunderstanding + you know, tech bro not understanding women thing. I've had people non-maliciously make me feel unsafe all the time as a woman, it doesnt make it ok that it made things feel unsafe, but at least there was no motive I guess. Women are almost always on the alert especially if something bad has happened to them

As for the ghosting, she probably just assumed they'd continue discussing on one of the many social platforms they decided on (sounds like they communicated through like 4 different mediums?) and he got busy and didn't check one of the less used platforms. And if they decided to communicate through say WeChat, its possible that he added the wife to the emails but didn't include her on WeChat which might have also been a bad perception.

Honestly, Linus handled this terribly by making it a public spectacle with his first response. If anything making a public request for a dm to clear up misunderstandings (if there were any) would have been the way to go I think

I agree. If they were communicating after the trip about her joining Floatplane without and issues I doubt Linus was trying to Weinstein her. His wife was also on the email chain
