Giving some sort of relief to underage parents who are forced to give birth might be a worthwhile mutual aid project. Or just to underage parents in general. Sucks it’s necessary, but it is necessary and any state function which the state shirks responsibility for will inevitably be picked up by a non-state actor. Better us than the christofascists. And yes, we will absolutely be seeing the same groups who worked for decades to overturn Roe now turning around and offering consolation to vulnerable underage parents whose pain directly results from their policies. At least, they’ll help the white parents.

Minors in the United States are barely considered humans. They are often considered property of their guardians and public schools have the ability to curtail so many basic rights on such flimsy grounds as behavior being “distracting”. There are a slew of Supreme Court cases challenging minor’s human rights and the minors usually lose. Minors are also one of the most consistently abused and neglected demographics. If minors had any sort of consciousness about themselves as a group, teenagers would be by far the most dangerous demographic to fuck with. The nature of age is that there are so many practical barriers to achieving that consciousness, but many of those barriers are absolute paper tigers, especially with the support of even a few adults.
I fully believe the voting age should be lowered to 13, and age to run for office down to 16 (or some sort of parallel system of “children’s councils” that have real political power). I would trust a random 16 year old in literally any political office over a random 70 year old.
Young people, including minors, should have more political power than other groups, not less, since they have to live with the consequences. If you’re 80 I hardly even think you should be allowed to vote, let alone run for office.

To me cars represent the opposite of freedom. To even drive one you need to be old enough and not disabled. You need to afford to buy one and maintain it. If you use it to go somewhere you need to make sure you have a place to park. And you’re not free to do what you want when you get to your destination since you need to be sober to drive home.

a less "eugenics" version would be more support for parents, especially first time parents. Things like paid parental leave, free health checkups, access to resources like social councellors and workshops. And of course, access to abortion.
