I dont like this meme format but (shrug) it isn't necessary for the joke to be funny
Indoor vaping is nasty as fuck yall vapers don't seem to realize that shit stick on everything like damn I can still smell vape on this wii u I bought on craigslist 5 years ago.
Can confirm chronic vaper here it creates a thin slime on everything which dust then glues itself on to. Now you got slime dust.
I was 100% serious at first then I lost steam and decided to go full on pettiness.
They probably spilled the liquid or were resting a super shitty one that leaked when it got hot. Normal vaping isn’t supposed to do that.
Except anarchists consistently say that one person’s freedom extends only to the point where it affects someone else. And second hand smoke affects other people. So anarchists are probably fine with places deciding for themselves whether people can smoke inside or not.
The difference is approach. Anarchists will say "this is a scent free space" on the slyer for an event and then if you come wearing cologne, they'll ask you to leave and take a shower before you come back. If you don't have a shower they'll figure it out for you (I have seen this happen). In an anarchist's eyes, the authoritarian version is fining someone for wearing cologne in a certain space or just kicking them out. Do you see how we draw the line?
every comment is a disagreement to me because i spent too much of my youth on reddit
So genuinely curious, if someone in an anarchist society started smoking in a public indoor area, what are the mechanisms that would actually compell them to leave in a reasonable timeframe?
Social pressure I assume (never bothered to read on the topic). Same way a drunk at somebody else’s party is gotten rid of if they’re being an ass.
But how do you get rid of a jerk without the police department?!?!?
The collective of people that run the place would expel them i would guess.
I agree completely. I am not an anarchist necessarily, just trying to enunciate what they might say, since this meme sort if unfairly creates a strawman.
I want commie memes to be unassailable.
I'm a centrist. Only one person should be allowed to smoke inside at any given time and every building is required to have a public lighter.
Trolling the centrists by walking into the “one smoker at a time” establishment and lighting up a gigantic cigar that would make Fidel swoon with envy :fidel-sarcastic:
the dialectic: I will simply lean halfway out the window and hope it doesn't blow back inside
I only smoke (weed) inside because my apartment has no outdoor space. At my last apartment I exclusively smoked outside because we had a nice porch and I just lived out there. 95% of the time I smoke next to my bedroom window and blow the smoke out. When my roommate is home I light a candle.
Vaping inside is fine and I will die on that hill, and I thought that long before I touched any sort of drug to inhale
Smoking should be banned everywhere, not just inside. It's not just harmful to anyone who happens to be nearby, it smells fucking gross and fucks up your throat. "People with preexisting respiratory conditions can't just ruin my vibe like that" 🤪🤪🤪
I think you underestimate the amount of smoke that remains inside. "Every single thing affects other people" I mumble as I blow smoke in your eyes.
:very-smart:
You seem willfully blind to the fact that other people smoking wherever they please presents a quite literal boot on their neck. I think other commenters here have made good points that bans wouldn't require a nanny state or any laws at all.
So you only value freedom when it specifically infringes on others'
Okay lolbert
(I have deliberately not made any moral claims btw)
You don't think forcing people with asthma to endure smoke everywhere is a moral decision?
superficial point lmao i gave you the benefit of the doubt before but now i have to present you with these glorious spheres :PIGPOOPBALLS:
Did you really just type this after accusing the other poster of not having an argument?
it would make sense for concert venues to be located far away from residential areas for noise pollution reasons, which actually also causes physical harm. i would have nothing against designated smoking areas as long as they are for smoking only. you seem to assume that everyone who disagrees with you is some religious wacko
Cafes/Bars/ect should be allowed to decide what crowd they cater to regarding smoking. Beer and coffee are just so much better with a cig. Maybe put some weight on the scale to make nonsmoking the assumed default.
That being said, the midwinter smoking crowd at the entrance of a dive bar is where I find my people. Wouldn’t be the same if we weren’t taking a shot to weather the cold as we feed our addictions.
Lmfao at the smokers itt pretending they aren't regurgitating libertarian quora answers
If you meet ancoms in real life most of them are like "let's wrap up the meeting so we can go outside for a smoke break, all the interesting conversations happen there anyway".
I feel like smokeing should only be allowed for the first week of every month make it special unlike just going through a pack at work because you hate veryone
If a true consensus revolving around societal harm vs benefit is reached then that's the consensus and you've got to respect it. If a utopian society could ever be realized it wouldn't be a problem. Many people use nicotine to self medicate for anxiety, my guess is there is a very specific brain chemistry that makes nicotine's moa the most effective therapy available to some people. What we should be focused on is developing a therapy for people who suffer this type of particular brain chemistry that doesn't involve something as harmful as tobacco use.
As a smoker (and you know how much I smoke) I think no smoking inside is a perfectly reasonable rule especially for common spaces.
