    From the r/politics megathread...

I don't agree much with Liz Cheney's politics.

But she's willing to forsake her personal power, status, reputation, as well undermine her own political party for the sake of protecting democracy in America. If anything should transcend partisan politics, democracy is it.

That is something I will respect about her.

Liz Cheney's hatred at Trump for putting her at personal risk is the reason she was on the January 6th committee. That's it. That's all. It's not complicated. It's personal for her. Many libs are incabable of understanding that truly awful American people exist. The libs' brains are are wired to demand The West Wing view of the world is real. It must be real. In this view of American exceptionalism - even the absolute worst republicans will act on principle for the good of the nation.

Also - she didn't storm the fucking beach at Normandy. All that happened is that she lost her primary. She'll be fine financially. Her name is money from the libs. An example is that she could easily get a seven figure advance for a 99% ghost-written book with a title something like "Standing Up For What's Right".

You say that, yet sorkin will make docudrama about her in 3 years, so who is laughing now.

McCain got love for voting down one (1) thing that Trump and McConnell wanted

Romney got it for doing nothing but occasionally saying things or being at protests (even though he's in one of the most secure seats in the country)

This idiot, the literal daughter of the architect for two of the most ruinous conflicts in modern history, got it for just hating Trump for creating an opportunity to harm her

GW could just say 'trans rights' on MSNBC and half that sub would start slobbing his knob for it

ghost-written book with a title something like “Standing Up For What’s Right”.

Is already a best seller in the NYT already.

I wonder what she'll get. $5,000,000 up front? More?

I find it hard to imagine she won't cash in that way. One, it's a nice big pile of cash. Two, right-wingers must be filled with absolute glee when they fleece the libs.

She's a fucking multimillionaire from a politically connected family. Being in Congress is a step down for her when it comes to amassing power and status. Why be one vote when you can buy dozens?
