There is literally no other reason to do this than historical revisionism and holocaust denial. Fucking sickening.

Yeah, her father cut some stuff out when he published it after being liberated. That's the old version I read in school. I know there's a more modern version with the deleted content around these days.

I think they're in jail or hiding from the FBI or something? What happened with that kid who was found dead in their compound?

Wikipedia might be wrong, but they changed their name to Black Hammer Party.

This story was in my feed because I live in this hellhole state BUT here is what I understand:

    • The graphic novel of The Diary of Anne Frank was ordered to be removed (along with a lot of other books), not the diary itself

    • Removal does not mean ban, the school board are reviewing the books (so, yeah, it'll probably be banned).

    • They removed The Bible, too (which twitter dorks are being soooo original about)

    • Super awful, books should not be banned, but, from what I read, this article is misleading.

If I missed ANYTHING, please dunk me into my proper receptacle. Here is the story I read: https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/education/article/Keller-ISD-Texas-book-ban-17377932.php

In my understanding, it were looking to ban books with questionable content, which the bible fell in to. Books kept getting added to the list until the ISD just said "fuck it, remove everything on the review list until we can sort it out". I am 100% sure the bible will be back while books that chuds think have "questionable" content go away. This is not good.

To my knowledge, the original Anne Frank is not on the list, just a graphic novel. Neither should be removed from a school library.

bingo, people need to remember that the judicial courts "reviewing" these books are controlled by conservatives

from what i remember, submitting a book bans it until court review, and the courts aren't going to agree to ban the bible lmao

this is just following the intended procedure to make it look legitimate

i imagine they just did it to both-sides their censorship and let the culture warriors blame the cultural marxists, but as an SJW cultural marxist myself i don't think the bible should be banned from schools either! i think the holy text of the largest religion in the country is probably something students should have some understanding of, and access to if they want, although it's not like they couldn't find it somewhere else.

Black hammer is a cult that bills itself as some kinda revolutionary black liberation movement. They posted twitter cringe to get hate clicks and be wreckers. They posted that Anne Frank was a colonizer or a Karen or some shit. Unsettling people.

More precisely they twewwted that it bothered them that there were no stories of black peoples capitivity taught like her story of capitvity. Which is an insightful critique. As inflamatorybas possible but it would have been interesting if the discourse could have handled it in good faith

Good point. It is an insightful critique but its useless because of the inflammatory rhetoric. That kind of calm discussion was a foregone conclusion which tells me that they never wanted a good faith conversation. Like you have to be a real asshole to make a child victim of genocide a target to make your point.

Is there an overabundance of white suffering narratives? Yeah in relation to non white narratives. But to tear down one to build the other reeks of wrecker shit. Capitalism and it's final fascistic form brutalizes everyone. Victims don't need to be discarded to make room for new victims. They should all be added together so we can see the suffering all over, add all these voices to the chorus.

reading holocaust survivor stories as a kid was one among the many things that radicalized me

makes since that the nazis would want them restricted. which, for the record, anyone restricting this diary is a nazi, full stop.

Did they even give any sort of bullshit reason for it's removal, Or are they just openly Fascist and proud at this point? I cannot see any reason besides being openly evil to try and remove this book.
