For me, it's the 70s, even tho it's the decade when the axe fell for the global left, the eclectic fashions, the vibes, the simultaneous sense of cultural defiance, despair, emerging technologies and building dread of an unknowable future that we now know so well, gives it an almost otherworldly quality other decades lack

Also best decade for hair

The 2020s so far. I try live in the present and don't find much value wishing I was somewhere long past. I also appreciate that things are relatively easier for LGBTQ+ people now than decades ago.

The frocks looked good, the chants were amazing, and everyone who wasn’t suffering typhoid or acute vitamin deficiencies was just so alive with energy.

the 1910s/1900s. At least before WW1, anyway. Aesthetically I prefer it for reasons I can't really explain other than "I like it" but also it's the latest to where the world never really felt like it was inevitably going to be the way it is today. ngl, the one objectively good thing the 80s gave us was pastel suits. Combine that with synth pop and a mountain of coke :stalin-feels-good:

The 50’s :side-eye-1: :side-eye-2: I wish Googie Architecture would make a comeback as a stark contrast to the boring, utilitarian look of most buildings today. Cars with fins are rad too. The sci-fi look will always be king.

It was not the decade for fashion though. Can’t imagine wearing a three-piece suit in sweltering heat.

The 70s, but not the disco high end fashion stuff. The everyday stuff, the cars, consumer products, ads, tv, etc. Idk why, but that decade especially people think of the aesthetics of a very specific place and time during it, and not the wider styles.

For home decor, definitely the 70s. I know exactly the vibe you're talking about.
