reminder that Eric Clapton is an outspoken white supremacist

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Clapton#%22Keep_Britain_White%22 (CW: racism)

        He apologized:

I was so ashamed of who I was, a kind of semi-racist, which didn't make sense. Half of my friends were black, I dated a black woman, and I championed black music.

Wait what the fuck, that's not an apology.

What's the difference between a baby and a bag of cocaine?

      punchline

Eric Clapton would never drop a bag of cocaine out a window

here's the blog post he made about it

Some many years ago, long before I started the comic, I was in a relationship and we suffered a miscarriage. Now, this relationship was toxic to begin with and doomed to fail regardless, so that the miscarriage was the straw that broke the camel's back came as no surprise. It was a pregnancy neither of us wanted in the first place, so the event didn't effect me nearly as much as it would, say, a couple who was trying for a child. Still, I saw the emotions it can bring up first hand, and I saw how it could truly hurt someone. It's a tough thing to handle because it's nobody's fault. There's nobody you can blame.

CAD would be completely forgotten if not for the Loss comic. No ome remembers VGcats and a only a handful remember Penny Arcade.

Penny Arcade is responsible for the annual PAX expo and they've got several published books, including somehow one of the first 5E splat books in Acquisitions Incorporated. The comic itself was never good but they're involved in a weird amount of gaming coverage

Lulwhut? PA runs multiple Cons every year. Their art is everywhere, from digital card games to table top minitures. They're still joined at the hip with WotC. And their website get 2M views daily, with revenue north of $5M annually.

They're no longer top dog, but they're hardly forgotten.

I only remember it because that one guy's pretentious self insert was in the poker game with Strong Bad.

Can't remember the last time I saw VGCats referenced. Doubt it's aged well, but one of my high school buddies introduced me to it so I have fond memories of us reading it on his computer in the living room and chuckling at the strips (when Scott would actually post semi-regularly). Last I heard Scott was doing furry commissions.

this goes pretty hard. miscarriages are already a traumatic event. you get told your whole life that an abortion is a mistake that's going to haunt you. the only thing that haunts me is the far right protestors outside of planned parenthood yelling threats and obscenities at you when going in for a miscarriage...

On the other hand: imagine agreeing to date someone who makes a gaming web comic.
