I regret to inform hexbear that Blumenthal has always had an extremely cringe writing style, he's just got terrible content now instead of focused anti-imperialist stuff.
lol it's true. And a decent percentage of the time their unhinged-sounding stuff (not the reactionary shit, just the "they're out to get us" stuff) is basically accurate, just presented in the least-convincing way possible.
This is why my favorite style of leftist journalism is the style that stays pretty ideological. Save the interesting stuff for an actual book or a thesis, Marxist journalism should be "here's an action being taken by the capitalists, here's the worker movement that's countering, and here's the historical context of this situation". When you start diving off into gangstalking or personal vendetta, you lose the thread and the message of your article vaporizes itself.
I feel like there is a time for professional sounding journalism, especially when going up against these types of things. You don't do yourselves any favors if you sound unhinged. Even their older website gives me weird vibes in its design. Idk what it is.
Better than most "sleek" socialist websites that are mostly whitespace and some completely meaningless article about what "Dora the Explorer can teach us about recapturing the spirit of revolution"

All the Grayzone guys (even Norton) really can at times sound like the Pepe Silva bit from always Sunny.

Sometimes you're paranoid and they are out to get you. This has the unfortunate effect of reinforcing paranoia in other instances.

Their website feels like Breitbart or a clickbait mill.

Not just whitespace, but literally just black text on a white background! CSS and colors (except maybe red) are bourgeois, you see.
