Also just one of the best co-ops out there. Altho I do feel like themes have been getting better with time, slowly, as someone who's been in the hobby a long time haha

Thunderspeaker will always be my main, because true power comes from the people :hammer-sickle:

My wife and I like to play Ocean's Hungry Grasp and Bringer of Dreams and Nightmares together. A really fun, flavorful and powerful duo

edit: i also really like River Surges in Sunlight combined with Thunderspeaker. Just insane Dahan production >:3

I was just about to say OHG is my favorite.

I'm hungry for more colonizers, feed me spirits that are good at pushing.

A Spread of Rampant Green is also really cool but almost feels like cheating.

Isn't that the one where you're trying to grab ancient artifacts off of an island that's about to go underwater in 5 minutes or am I confusing it with something else?

It's a game where you play as Spirits trying to push colonizers off the island before they pollute it to death. They're all themed around different biomes and such. It's highly asymmetric and fun. The designer also consulted with anthropologists and such to make sure no naming conventions were similar to known indigenous languages.

I think you're thinking of Survive! Escape from Atlantis

Oooh, that one does sound interesting and significantly more anti colonialist than what I was thinking

The game I was looking for wasn't Survive!: Escape from Atlantis. It was something else with I believe an extremely similar premise, I think. I've played it several times before and remember most of the rules but I can't for the LIFE of me remember what it was called, other than I'm like 80% sure the word "Island" was in the title. The tiles were square, there were 4 artifacts to rescue, one of which was a purple chalice of sorts? The box art had a tower standing over the forest in the night, I think

Oh, Forbidden Island! That one is decent but just a bit too simple for me personally. I like it for family game nights though.

THAT'S THE ONE. To be honest no wonder I keep forgetting it with such a forgettable title. Thank you

not really. he makes like $3 million a year or something. and his videos have a pretty low budget. he's living the dream.

Where does he make $3 million/year from? Those sites that calculate a number based on viewership numbers say more like $400k, but even that is probably way too high considering watch time matters, and his most popular videos are these short form skits.

Sponsorblock is great. I also love the fact that YouTube doesn't tell video makers that I'm skipping their ad spots so they get paid the same regardless.

I don't know if it counts as eurogame or ameritrash but I love Root (you can play as a faction of adorable forest rebels against a tottering imperial remnant state and the incoming bourgeois capitalist literal cat state) and a lot of the Leder Games catalogue.

Luv me some Euro games. My group doesn't like the hard crunch stuff though, as well as has a preference for co-op, so it can be a struggle finding something we all agree on tho

Love the recent reprint/revision of the Dune board game by GF9, that shit slaps

Diplomacy is a pretty cool euro game but it takes like 6 hours to play, there's no dice or random chance of any kind (except in assigning the initial countries each person will play as) and it requires at least 7 people to get together to play the game
