Liquid Snake: Are you familiar with “Big Chungus”?
-Snake: “Big Chungus”?
-Liquid Snake: Yes, Big Chungus, the world renowned meme of an oversized cartoon rabbit.
-Snake: What does some dumb joke have to do with your plan?
-Liquid Snake: EVERYTHING, Snake! This isn’t about jokes, this is about legacy. Do you even know who Big Chungus is?
-Snake: He’s… just some cartoon rabbit.
-Liquid Snake: Not just “some rabbit”, the most famous rabbit in cinematic history: the one and only… BUGS BUNNY.
-Snake: Bugs Bunny? The Looney Tunes character?
-Liquid Snake: The very same. In 1941, during the peak years of the Looney Tunes franchise, a cartoon was released, named “Wabbit Twouble”, where Bugs Bunny faces off with his long-time rival Elmer Fudd. But for just a moment, to mock the foolish Elmer, Bugs inflates himself to a comically bloated form, a moment that lasts only three-point-four seconds, in an eight minute and twenty-two second long cartoon. THREE-POINT-FOUR SECONDS: that’s all the time Big Chungus had ever existed! And yet decades later he would become more famous than Bugs Bunny, despite being Bugs Bunny himself! You see, Snake, memes control history! And I shall use the power of memes to control my own destiny! Do you honestly think Chuck Jones or Mel Blanc could have expected internet trolls to deify a character that doesn’t even exist? Make him far more infamous than his own true identity as Bugs Bunny? Big Chungus lives on as the dominant meme. And that, brother, is what I intend to do. I will not let myself be cursed by my recessive memes!
The fact that the joke video doesn't really break MGS canon at all is amazing.
So they're copyrighting a name they didn't come up with themselves?
Unless they call him something else, the name Big Chungus isn't theirs.
capitalists when they see a common resource that hasn't yet been enclosed :sus-torment:
the funny thing about Big Chungus is it's taken from a single frame of a 1930s Looney Tunes cartoon where Bugs Bunny briefly transforms his shape to mock Elmer Fudd, who looked more rotund in his earlier designs.
god i hate multiverse
can everyone pls agree with me that it's a reddit game so i can dunk on my friend who likes it thank you
I've already seen Multiversus defended here on Hexbear, in the classic treat defendy "touch grass" way, with :reddit-logo: flavoring mixed in such as "if you don't like it don't buy it, simple" as if that magically cures all concerns with one corporation owning so much that the only time you'll ever see anything with The Iron Giant again is him going completely against character to fight for your amusement, today only 10% off buy now and contribute to your season pass! Bazinga!

i mean yeah it's fucked that they own all that
but also that's already true so let's have a ridiculous fucking fighting game with any random character

Monetized as it is, right now, I'm not paying a thin dime for any nostalgia feels.
This is gunna' kill the meme harder than antifa Gritty.
Gritty's meme lies a mouldering in the grave but his soul keeps marching on. :cursed:
Wholesome 100 Keanu news! All the treats will be under one treat corporation which means even more epic soulless cash grabs where you have to pay extra for every last drop of nostalgia from a time when the world was slightly less on fire! :so-true:
Yes but does it have the blessing of ELO~N and doge?
Darkest timeline: ELO~N as DLC character on Multiversus, and even people that dislike ELO~N paying for the privilege.
Fortunately no, for Elon musk is holesome 0 and Big Chungus is holesome 100
mmm can't wait for my smash clone featuring :wojak-nooo:, :FrogPog:, :porky-scared:, :soviet-chad:
Warner Bros now have exclusive rights to the term "Big Chunky Anus"
the funniest part of these comics is how unfunny they are
like the thought that someone would ever utter what was said in the 2nd panel, is the funny part
I still mostly remember the word chungus being a running gag on Jim Sterling's Squirty Play series that they entered whenever some game on Steam Greenlight asked for a name
i thought this was already confirmed
jesus why do i know anything about this game it looks entirely forgetable
