We are in ancapistan, aren't we?

We literally shrugged in response to COVID because no one cares. COVID isn't New Product and COVID isn't a fun minority to hate. Therefore no one gives a shit, be like le epic South Park and stop caring: thinking is for losers, and caring is for losers (but please care a lot about other people's race or sexuality, the hierarchy is soooooooo important. Care about shareholder value too while you're at it!)

If someones choice is to spread an infectious disease, then they are doing biological terrorism and I won't respect their choice to put me in danger.

I am so sick of this shit. It makes me feel unsafe everytime I go outside or am around people. This shit could have been over by now. Fuck the west. Fuck muh line go up. Fuck capitalism.

Me strolling through the city square, my naked skin choked with buboes: "Ah, glad we can respect each other's choices!"

Same, I am so tired of hoping I don't get COVID from an unmasked plague-spreading shitbag every time I go run errands. I've always been a hyochondriac, too, so it's been real fun seeing society decide that a disease that has disabled and killed millions isn't a big deal at all, and the sentiment has been like that for over a year now.

I want to go out and do all the things I was doing before the pandemic hit (e.g. concerts), but the thought of being in big crowds or whatever just fills me with dread, and I know I wouldn't be able to enjoy those things as a result. I pretty much don't trust being around anyone, save for a few family members and a friend that I know are still taking the pandemic very seriously. Love living in an incredibly atomized society that found a way to be even more atomizing after their abysmal response to a deadly, debilitating pandemic. :yea:

The West is honestly the stupidest place. Anything that could ever be construed as collective action is immediately debased and made useless, despite the obvious societal benefits.

Please don't stop others from bursting their pustules on you. It's actually rude and limiting their freedom. You do you. If you get squirted with plague pus, that's just the price of freedom. We can't afford to keep pretending like it's a big deal. At some point we have to move on.

This reminds me of a slew of conservative zombie stories during mid 00s (World War Z boom I think) that like to frame leftists as idiots who tries to save the zombie and got owned as the result because "hahaha inclusivity stupid".

The unspoken “(you shouldn’t wear a mask but) it’s okay if you choose to wear a mask” is so fucking evil.

There was a moment at the beginning of the pandemic where masks weren't seen as "poltical" more of a nuance. I hate how such a simple thing became a "poltical" thing rather just basic a public health issue.

why bother making an ad to say absolutely nothing?

just "it is what it is" in big letters.

At the schoolyard this morning dropping off the kids and the drop-off in kids wearing masks is massive.

I don't think I've seen a mask on the commuter train in weeks. There's claims the government is working on a plan for the coming fall wave, but good luck, everyone's changed their behavior already!

Houcl dropped the mask mandate for NYC public transit yesterday (hence these dumb updated signs), but people had decided wearing masks was optional long before.

I get just... incredibly mad at the people who, despite not needing to wear them anymore (mask mandates ended here ages ago), still continue to wear a mask incorrectly. Like what even is the fucking point. Either wear that shit the right way, or don't wear it. Seeing so many people in public transport wearing it around their chin, or under their nose. It's fucking annoying.

Humans only behave this way due to multiple generations of gaslighting and abuse. I suppose it’s up to us to be kind, since nobody else will…

I know that the NYC subway is absolutely flooded with cops whose entire job it is to look out for the pettiest of crimes but I don't think I would be able to stop myself from breaking that sign with my bare hands
