There is that angle but also keep in mind most people know shit about history anyway. Ask Americans or Russians basic facts about WW2 and you'll probably get embarrassing answers.

Even the pro-American narrative is basically something something Pearl Harbor then something something D-Day and then victory. Don't even dare ask which year.

Oh no don't worry some Americans will start saying "December 7th..." as a mnemonic to remember the year "1941"

I was watching a US bare knuckle fighting event last night, they had a female Russian fighter. In her ring walk she was wearing a hoodie emblazoned with huge red stars with hammer & sickle inside of them. Cool, I'll cheer for her. During her fighter introduction, she is hailed as a US military veteran. What a downer. She was horrible, stiff and deer in head light, not used to bare knuckle fighting. She got KTFO in the 1st round. Then the winner brings in a bible and goes all God this God that bs. LMAO total mind fuck match up.

Putin has to cede territory to limit casualties because this war isn't super popular among Russians, so he can’t mobilize the amount of troops necessary to win.

First of all Stalin wasn't Russian. Second what were the low casualty options exactly that he could have taken but didn't (because obviously he had total control of all levels of military strategy)? The USSR alternatively ceded ground with scorched Earth to save lives, dug in to fortify when the strategic situation demanded it or when they could effectively use terrain as a force multiplier, used advanced weapons and combined arms warfare just as much as anyone else did, and attacked in force when the gains could justify it.
