I find myself reading more than ever, but just so I can make sure my jokes are good enough, the comedy here is unparalleled

It's called Historical Materialism because you have to read a lot of History books to be able to produce your best Material.

i am frequently intimidated by just how smart and talented people here are. Like video game creators and scientists and genius level musicians. And I'm over here just going "hehehehe pee poo"

The same people posting smart stuff are also making whole posts that just say "pidssfart bottom text"

don't worry, as a scientist i'm also intimidated by hexbear. i can tell you all about deep space hydrogen distribution and its implications about dark matter, but the level of care and understanding that people here have about history/economics/current events is insane - i couldn't imagine being up to date and articulate enough to have written all those news megas for instance

LIB history is string of anal beads: an ordered list of unrelated event nuggets whose dates you memorize.

    No joke, me too.

I was in a slump the last few years in terms of reading, I used to read a lot but then I went through some things and I stopped. But being on Hexbear and Lemmygrad got me interested in reading such cool political and historical material which I would never had known about otherwise. I've been a radical for a long time but the recommendations here are just beyond anything I've ever encountered in political circles, just the best books and most are very current. I'm reading often now like I used to and it makes me very happy and excited to read again. I'm learning so much again.

Thanks to all the comrades here and on Lemmygrad for all the recommendations and educational material.

Psst! Or at least read Nikolai Bukharin's Historical Materialism: A System of Sociology:
