    does he actually get a tax break? you don't get tax breaks for donating to a 501c (4) or whatever the fuck superpacs and shit are.

      The company wasn't given to a 501c, it was given to

      a specially designed set of trusts and nonprofit organizations. They were created to preserve the company’s independence and ensure that all of its profits — some $100 million a year — are used to combat climate change and protect undeveloped land around the globe. (NYT)

      There's no way it wasn't a tax-deductible gift.

        Yeah it's the Bill Gates move - put all the money in a charitable organization that you get to control, basically. You as the head of the foundation own nothing while it gives you free reign to use its real estate, private jet, sexcrime island, etc.
