It is not ideas but material conditions that propel history forward. Veganism will win not necessarily through ethical/moral appeals (even though they are correct) but because factory farming of meat will become untenable (it already is). The malding carnists of today will be the vegans of tomorrow.

      Of course, humans are unique in that they’re the subject and object of history and we can intervene in historical processes to some degree.

      I just find it funny that meat eaters are out here calling vegans liberal moralists when in the fullness of time we will be proven not just morally but materially correct.

    I think that before this happens, most fast food will have silently transitioned to 100% plant protein for cost reasons.

    Equally possible, in terms of consequential material conditions, is that CAFOs incubate more pandemics that make Covid look like a walk in the park.
